We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join one of the region's largest employers to drive economic innovation and growth strategy efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative strategies to drive economic growth and foster a culture of innovation within the organization. You will collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for economic development and implement initiatives to support business innovation and expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute economic development strategies to attract new business partners, retain existing ones, and promote economic growth within the region.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify opportunities for innovation and implement initiatives to support business growth and expansion.
- Analyze economic trends and market data to identify potential areas for investment and develop strategies to capitalize on market opportunities.
- Work closely with government agencies, industry associations, and community stakeholders to nourish ecosystems and foster partnerships for economic development to drive innovation.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of economic development programs, making adjustments as needed to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of professionals responsible for economic expansion and local business development initiatives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging best practices in economic development and innovation strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required and relevant Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of related work experience demonstrating increasing responsibility. To include, project oversight, demonstratable experience managing sensitive projects that involve collaborating with a variety of stakeholders internally and externally.
- Experience managing or engaging with supplier diversity initiatives is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and identify innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience building and managing relationships with government entities, industry associations, and community stakeholders.
- Knowledge of economic development principles and practices, including finance, marketing, and business development.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
